Nadie es profeta en su tierra. Ni falta que hace, opinamos algunos… o sí, piensan otros. Sea como fuere Finest Cut Records es un nuevo sello, dedicado a la producción y difusión de sonidos electrónicos y club, por el que corre inequívocamente sangre sonora levantina pero que parece abocado al fulgurante éxito en lugares no tan cercanos, sureños y soleados. Los conocidos y celebrados djs y productores Andrés Arias y Carlos Cmix -los dos, además, conforman el dúo Loiter- han unido fuerzas, talento y ganas de progresar con Iñigo Surio aka Dj Largo para sentar las bases de una novedosa y emergente plataforma discográfica, a través de la cual poder dar vida, y cancha nacional e internacional, a su propio material sonoro, ese en el que las sinergias entre el tech-house levantino y el underground londinese son evidentes, latentes y constantes. Precisamente es en la capital del Támesis –¿se os ocurre lugar mejor?- donde tuvo lugar la presentación oficial de Finest Cut Records en marzo de 2011, concretamente en el prestigioso Egg Club y con la participación de Edu Imbernon; y meses más tarde, ya en España, en el festival SOS 4.8 de Murcia con gran éxito de público –bailongo masivo- y buenas críticas -destacables reseñas de los que más saben del asunto-. Desde ese momento las actuaciones de los mentores de F.C.R. en la escena club de Londres es permanente y reclamadísima. 

Dando por hecho que el armazón sonoro de Finest Cut Records está alicatado con los mejores ritmos del tech-house y aledaños, de innata proyección internacional, es de obligada y feliz mención reconocer que el label tiene también especial debilidad por el deep-tech-house sofisticadamente vespertino y el techno de alto octanaje. Todo ello siempre pasado, de forma valiente y descarada, por ese tamiz mediterráneo que tan bien les sienta a esos ritmos sintéticos paridos allende el Atlántico. Su intención inmediata es editar, con una interesante frecuencia, temas originales y remixes tanto de nuevos nombres -que empiezan a labrarse camino en el proceloso mundillo de la electrónica de club española y británica-, junto a otros artistas consolidados, y dotados de amplio bagaje, en la escena europea y mundial. 

Probablemente el verdadero leit-motiv de Finest Cut -y de sus tres ideadores y gestores- es cohesionar estilos dispares, maridar efervescentes sabores sonoros siempre en busca de un son propio que los haga diferentes, tanto en su ciudad y país -donde ya son profetas rompiendo la maldición del dicho evangélico-, como en U.K., donde ya nadie les pide el pasaporte a la hora de bailar sus sets hasta caer literalmente rendidos.

No one is a prophet in his own land. Some of us think there’s no need for it. Others think that there is. In any case, Finest Cut Records is a new record label that works producing and diffusing electronic and club sounds, with sunny and southern blood running through its veins. And this seems to be a very successful formula in not so sunny and southern lands. The well known producers and dj’s Andrés Arias and Carlos Cmix, as well as performing as Loiter Duo, have united forces, talent and evolving will with Iñigo Surio, aka Dj Largo, to create a new and emerging record company, through which they pretend to create and extend, in and out of their country, their own sonorous material, composed by the union of southern tech-house with the Londoner underground. And there was no better place than London to officially present, in March 2011, Finest Cut Records. It was in prestigious club Egg, with the collaboration of Edu Imbernón. Months later, they performed in SOS 4.8 International Festival, in Murcia, Spain, with a massive affluence of public and great reviews from the ones who really now about music. From this moment on, the performances of founders of F.C.R. became permanent and much demanded in the London club scene.

Taking for granted the best tech-house rhythms in their sounds, with proved international projection, F.C.R. loves as well sophisticated evening deep-tech-house and high voltage techno. And all of this, bravely and shamelessly passed through that Mediterranean style that makes their material so interesting and unique. Synthetic rhythms born in the Atlantic Ocean. Its most immediate goal is to frequently edit original songs and remixes, combining new talents that are making their way in the Spanish and British competitive world of electronic club together with highly experienced and worldwide known artists.

The real late-motive of the creators of Finest Cut Records is, probably, to unite uneven styles. To join effervescent sonorous flavors, always searching for that personal sound that makes them different in their own country –where they are actually “prophets”, breaking the saying’s curse- as well as in the U.K., where no one on the dance floor asks them for their passport.
